Pillar 11: Physiological

Is a calorie just a calorie? NOPE. What we eat has wholly positive or wholly negative effects on every single aspect of our lives. A huge portion of our immune system LIVES (bacteria) within our GI (Gastro-Intestinal) tract. Some research says up to 70% and some says up to 80%, but whatever it is, it’s worth noting that because of this large number, what we put into our bodies will affect us physiologically and is precisely why I want you to pay close attention to this pillar.

Things to pay close attention to are: Gut microbiome health; Cellular health; Mitochondrial health; Immune system health; Stress response health; Biological age.

What’s more, I check my blood biomarkers every six months (bi-annually). This is a full blood profile with metabolic panel + lipid panel. Partner with your physician or family medical practice to set yours up. Insurance helps, but is not necessary to get this done. Review ranges with your Doc once you’ve received your results.

Things to pay close attention to are: Triglycerides; LDL/VLDL cholesterol; Cholesterol/HDL ratio; Fasting glucose; Creatinine; Blood mineral levels; Total protein.

Here’s how I do it and how The Dillon Burns Method practitioner will set up their PHYSIOLOGICAL pillar:

  • I’ve partnered with and use VIOME to provide the best gut microbiome testing I can find. If you need help developing your PHYSIOLOGICAL pillar, please reach out to me HERE.

  • Get set up with VIOME here.

  • Contact your physician and ask to schedule a blood profile, specifically: Comprehensive metabolic panel & lipid panel.
