Pillar 111: Mental
The journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step.
I say this because this is what it’s going to feel like. It’s a daily battle that you’ll have to be ready to fight, but small steps daily will get you much further than trying to do it all at once; apply this to all areas of your life.
I do a few very specific things every single day to keep my mind focused, sharp, energized, and healthy. Most importantly, I block out time every single day to focus on myself; with three kids, a giant dog, and everything else that wants or needs my attention, it’s not always easy - but it’s possible. So don’t give yourself any excuse not to block that time out for yourself.
I listen to something positive/motivational/inspirational first thing; I read at least 10 pages of personal/self-development daily; I spend no more than 5 to 10 minutes on focused breathing + meditation (quiet time - no distractions); I do something hard every day; I stay active every day, even if it’s just a walk outside.
Here’s how I do it and how The Dillon Burns Method practitioner will set up their MENTAL pillar:

Download the Headspace App for short, focused meditation.
Download the ROMWOD App for 20-45 minute guided breathing + mobility/stretching routines.
Read at least 10 pages of personal/self-development daily. Here’s a list of books I recommend.
Listen to a few minutes of positivity/motivation/inspiration daily here.
Stay active every day.
Do something hard every day or something you don’t want to do. Come up with something you think is hard or that you know you don’t want to do, then do it. Comfort is a slow death. It won’t be easy, but it’ll be worth it.
